Wholsey started from something very simple — a love for baking and the struggle to find truly delicious vegetarian dessert options.

As a vegetarian, I often found it difficult to discover cookies, brownies, and baked treats that felt fresh, homemade, and comforting. Many dessert options available at cafés and bakeries lacked variety or didn’t have that warm, homemade taste I was always searching for. I wanted desserts that were rich, indulgent, wholesome, and made with care.

Baking had always been a huge part of my life. It brought me comfort, creativity, and happiness. I spent countless hours experimenting in the kitchen, testing recipes, browning butter, and creating homemade cookies and desserts that felt special — the kind of treats that make people smile after the very first bite.

But turning my passion into a business felt incredibly scary.
